I am so proud of Tuesday’s Trade of the Day – LVS, see previous article.
SIRI is very disappointing but I’m not selling yet. There are 105M shares shorted on this stock but that’s only a few days’ trading. I really believe the stock is going to make a big move up in the next 7 days but I am still going to have my finger on the sell trigger the second it crosses $7.50 as $7.61 has been a nasty double top.
I went in on Yahoo today, I figure if Google goes up, Yahoo goes up too.
TWX is on a roll thanks to my pal Carl Icahn! He’s really rattling some cages and getting everyone talking about how valuable the broken up company could be – mission accomplished!
TIVO is up .29 (5%) since I grabbed it Tuesday but I think it has legs.
BRKA is up $4,000 since Tuesday’s recommendation – I hope everyone bought some! Still looks strong for another 4K but stop out with a profit at 3K if it comes to that.
My homebuilder picks from Tuesday are up nicely too: MTH +$5, LEN +2, SPF 0 (was up $2), DHI +1, KBH +$4, RYL 0 (was $5, this is why we use stops!).
Speaking of great movers, my 11/22 oil picks were all up today as well and, following the Valero Rule, today was the first day to open the trades: RDSA +2%, CVX +2%, XOM + 2%, PTEN + 3%, MUR (my favorite) +3%, HAWK + 2%, DO +6%, HAL +3%. All these have plenty of room to run up but the second Valero turns down, just dump them, you can always get back in.
VLO itself went crazy today +5%. If it snows a little tonight in NY then expect more of the same tomorrow (I know, it is so silly).
EK continues to climb, up $2.25 (10%) from recommendation.
Although WMT is down $1 from recommendation the option is only down .60 so no reason to sell yet…
As foretold, SBUX is pulling back, today is a head fake – still looking to buy at $28.
I give up on IMAX, maybe buy it at $8 but very sad.
BCRX stopped out my calls today with only 250% profit. Had I not been greedy I could have picked up 275%. Not bad for 2 day’s work.
Microsoft woke up today! I am so amazed I don’t know what to make of it. Had a terrible finish but .21 is a good move for them.
GG is up 4%, MRB is up 6% – let’s not forget the poker thesis and be careful.
I called Google oversold on Wed am but was too sick of the stock to bet it. Could have been in at $400.
TXN – At this point I am getting a little concerned but what a run! Now up 10% from 11/16 recommendation. I am ready to get out at $33.50 to preserve profits.
HET – I got out of this today. Can’t break $70, if it does I’ll look again.
GME might hit $30 sooner than I thought – can’t wait to buy it!
FSL – This morning’s Trade of the Decade is already up 7%, that’s a pretty good start!
GNW – I entered this one on strength in the afternoon at $34.73 with a $35 call for .60. I’m not sure where this one will go but my formula says there is still a day to cover but 8M of today’s shares went after market which is beyond strange. GE set the price at $34.66 and upped the sale to 41M shares all going through MWD and I will admit I am baffled as to how this strange process will play out. I will be looking to make a quick exit tomorrow unless I am enlightened by then.
JDSU was up 9% today – I wish I had time to buy everything I recommend!
USG was up 4% today, another one I wish I had bothered with.
Last Weeks Pick FRK is up another 11% today, that one I did buy…
AAPL surprised me even after I picked it with a 5% gain with no sign of slowing down.
The QQQQ was down in the AH by .03 but the chart says yes for tomorrow.
The DOW also looks strong but may get rammed back from 11K again. The short term overbought indicator is scary looking so I’m just not gonna look.
The S&P looks just like the DOW, which is silly but swapping GNW for Calpine alone should give the index a boost at least early on.
