I was very saddened to learn that Gerry Rafferty passed away today at the age of 63. Gerry wrote the classic song "Stuck in the Middle" which will also be remembered as the sound track for the famous interrogation scene in Tarantino’s classic Reservoir Dogs. Gerry also wrote the classic tune "Baker Street" which was a rare popular tune featuring an up front saxophone riff.
I had occasion to communicate with Gerry a few years back on a parody/copyright matter. All I can say is he was a regular guy who was certainly not full of himself like many others in the music entertainment business.
What does this have to do with finance or economics? Here is a revised version of another song parody penned right around Lloyd Blankfein’s birthday TARP in September of 2008.

I am always happy to hear Gerry’s music which I suppose is the best tribute I can give the man.
