This really does not make total sense to me, for the reasons towards the end of the article. Particularly this part: "the theoretical model must be adjusted, Fallon said. 'The time course of [neuronal cluster firing] is in terms of milliseconds to seconds, and not months to years (which the authors acknowledge). So I think they need to add a component, perhaps a hormonal-type damping mechanism that has a time constant over weeks, months and years,..'" But still fascinating to consider, and parts do seem rather logical. Anyone have any thoughts on this? ~ Ilene
