I am lucky enough to still have enough vision to not (yet) have to wear any form of glasses, so I was really not aware of the marketplace and costs involved. However this 60 Minutes piece last night was fascinating from a business perspective, especially the fact one company (Italian no less) has essentially sewn up the marketplace with an incredible vertical business plan (dominance at the retail level, dominance at the manufacturing level, and even an emerging hand in the vision insurance business). Who said Italians weren’t good capitalists?
