I had missed ’60 Minutes’ this week so someone flagged this story for me on the rise of the machines. Long time readers will know this is a topic heavily covered before it has started to become “obvious” to the masses. Some of this will be remedial but other parts relatively eye opening. I believe this to be one of the biggest issues of our time as it has potential to change the whole work dynamic for countless citizens. There are a myriad of long term consequences but in the short term the increasingly “jobless” recoveries the U.S. has been experiencing are partially explained by the rise of automation.
