Year to date, the S&P 500 is up 15.0% while the tech-heavy NASDAQ is + 19.6%. Most of the Nasdaq's outperformance came since the broad market topped out on August 2.
Apple’s resurgence has a lot to do with the NASDAQ’s recent relative performance.
