Well okay, not really, but it's doing pretty well compared to our other excesses. And I wanted to share that cool picture below.
My best guesses about the health effects of alcohol, taken from cumulative reading and subject to change:
1) moderate drinking tends to be better than no drinking in studies assessing how alcohol affects longevity
2) alcohol (in moderation) reduces the risk of heart disease
3) alcohol increases the risk of certain kinds of cancer
4) being a heavy drinker or an alcoholic is not very healthy
5) red wine is healthier than other alcoholic drinks, so if you're going to drink….
