A Spike In New Lows Around The World by Jennifer Thomson, Gavekal Capital
Unsurprisingly, the percent of issues making 65-day new lows is expanding across all geographies. In the developed world, the expected concurrent decline in prices has really only materialized in Europe, however, as stocks in North America and Asia-Pacific have (so far) remained more resilient in aggregate.
While not as pronounced as in their developed market counterparts, emerging markets have not escaped the acceleration in lows–even as price declines in the EMEA and Latin America regions seems to have moved lower independently of the new low variable.
