Bluesky has seen a surge of sign-ups as people look for a Twitter-like experience minus the toxicity of Elon Musk’s X. Here’s how to set up and use an account on this X alternative.

Several social networks have cropped up in recent years, pitching themselves as alternatives to an Elon Musk-owned Twitter. One such network is Bluesky Social, which was backed by former Twitter CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey before he left the board in 2024.
